On the other hand, it seems to me that the focusing is still possible even with the vertical misalignment. It think vertical realignment is not possible by yourself, you would have to get the camera serviced.

#BRONICA RF645 LOMO HOW TO#
Hi Seqqat would you know to vertically realign the rangefinder? Mines marginally off and have been looking for a how to for some time now with no luck. I dropped it badly, and it still works (had to realign rangerfinder myself, pretty easy with the screw in the hole right to the finder, it is covered by a plastic cap). Mine has sometimes issues with film advance, not so serious enough to be a real problem. I am confident and I even more look forward to receiving my Broni' RF o) I was especially afraid by reading bad adventures on websites, it is an error to read these things because that worries without reason. Thank you very much to you all to have reassured me.
#BRONICA RF645 LOMO UPGRADE#
Originally built as a discount option to the Hasselblad medium format SLR, the Bronica S2 was an upgrade to the earlier Bronica S with the most significant change being an upgraded interchangeable front helical. I got it from eBay and it had a pretty good bump on the side, but no problems at all, it focuses accurately and the photos are tack sharp even though I always shoot wide open at F4. Bronica S2 (1965) This is a Bronica S2, a medium format single lens reflex camera produced by Zenza Bronica Kogyo from 1965 to 1969. I have mine for about 3 months but I use it a lot. I have had mine for 6 years now with zero problems. What happens 10 years from now, will you be able to find a repair shop, is another question. This camera is probably more complex and error prone than purely mechanical cameras, but I'm sure they can last for decades without an issue. Leaf shutter electronically controlled should be fairly reliable over time. I think the most occuring problems are rangefinder misalignment (easy to fix yourself horizontally, vertically that's another story), and film advance, but on your recent model, this should not be an issue. So, can we consider as far as it is about a little reliable device ? On the other hand, I have just discovered that many users had problem of reliability with this Bronica (rangefinder, electronic.) :o/ Especially with the 100mm optic.I just come to buy a RF645, I am satisfied !! I’d definitely encourage handling a Mamiya 7 before selling your RF645 - RF645s are superlative travel and every day cameras and they’re not getting any cheaper if you ever want to buy one again. The RF645’s minimum focus distance feels far a lot of the time, but the Mamiya 7 doesn’t address that. The Mamiya 7 lenses don’t focus any closer. What do you feel the RF645’s shortcomings are? I like its metering very much (it underexposed indoor sometimes, but otherwise is great with even slide film). I also think adjusting to a fiddly film curtain would be tedious after using the RF645’s mechanism to block light out from the film while changing lenses. In my handling of a Mamiya 7, it was fine - I didn’t hate handling it, but it is bulkier and less pleasant in my hand. I’ve briefly handled a Mamiya 7 before, which will inform some of my comments here.Įrgonomically, I like the RF645 a great deal.

What are your thoughts? I've seen really mixed reviews whether or not the Mamiya is worth the insane price tag. Has anyone tried both? My local camera shop does trades, so I was planning on trading the Bronicas to be able to afford the Mamiya but I'm hesitant to let my RF645 go in case the Mamiya doesn't work out for me! I'm going to be moving and I was thinking about selling both my Bronicas for a Mamiya 7 that's available locally with the 80mm, and using that as my main camera, and hopefully finding the 50mm for it as well. I love the 6x7 format, but my SLR is just too big for me. I mostly use the 50, but finding reasonably priced 95mm filters is out of the question, and this is a bit of a deal breaker for me when deciding which camera to use. I also have a Bronica GS-1, which is great but it is so cumbersome compared to my RF645. I have the 45mm with finder, 65mm and 100mm. I've owned my Bronica RF645 for a few years now, and I love it.
